Three weeks before the new year settled in, a family in Caledonia befriended this emaciated, severely matted stray. Seems that this tantalizing brown and black tabby showed up in the neighborhood, wandering over to their house crying. They set out food and started feeding him, looking for posted signs regarding a lost cat but finding none. They took him in to a local vet's office to check for a microchip, and when none was found, asked us for help. They diligently worked at releasing his fur from the snarls and tangles that pulled and tugged at his fur, and continued to fatten him up until we we were able to welcome him into our program on January 2nd, xxxx. Although unable to take him indoors, they did set up shelter in their garage, keeping him away from the elements and sheltering him from the bitter cold. Although he was neutered and front declawed already, the condition of his once lovely locks proved that this once indoor cat he had been neglected for quite some time. He spruced up nicely though, and thanks to the TLC he received in the weeks prior to his intake, Rembrandt turned out to be a true work of art once he was washed, blow-dried, brushed and fluffed:) Born in the summer of xxxx, this darling, delightful boy was quite shell-shocked at first, tending to shy away from the other cats and hiss until he realized they meant no harm. It only took him a few days to find his footing and feel comfortable in his furry little shoes. He eagerly awaits the attention and affection bestowed upon him by the volunteers, and since he is such a charming chap, they are drawn to him as soon as they walk into the room. He cannot get enough lovin' from his adoring fans, and since he craves one-on-one from anyone willing to shower him with it, I am excited to get him into a home of his own. Who needs a piece de resistance hanging on your wall when you can have him cuddled in your lap:) Wearable art? That is where it is at - and that is just where our Rembrandt longs to be!
