Pros:
-Vehicle has been well maintained - maintenance record for past several thousand miles included.
-Vehicle has stayed in one extended family for most of its life. I bought the vehicle in xxxx.
-Engine runs well and has a surprising amount of power for its size and age. There are no leaks either. -Oil needs to be topped off once or twice between oil changes.
-Good gas mileage - upwards of 25 mpg on average
-Automatic Transmission - shifts smoothly
-Power Steering fluid replaced in January xxxx
-New Battery purchased in November xxxx
-Aftermarket stereo and speakers with manual included
-Power Windows (Passenger side rear window does not work)
-Power Locks
-No rips, tears, or holes in floor, ceiling, or seats
-Rear defrost works well
-All gauges work
-All exterior lights work
-All fluids are at proper levels and none need to be changed
Cons:
-Occasionally it takes several tries to start the vehicle, especially in the cold (if it does not start on the first turn it just clicks). When the temperature is really cold it also makes a brief, low whirring sound after starting. I use the car every day to get to work (a 30 mile round trip), so for now it's not an issue that keeps the car from being useful.
-While keys (I have at least one original, possibly two) open the doors and trunk, a custom-cut dowel rod turns the ignition. The previous owner had multiple issues with faulty ignition switches, so he custom made the dowel rod to turn the ignition switch. This is not the main cause of the issue with the vehicle starting. The trouble starting the vehicle began long after the modification of the ignition switch. If you keep the dowel rod in a safe place, this will not be a huge security issue.
-Air Conditioning works most of the time, but cuts out occasionally. Heat works well all the time
-Trunk has no particle board or carpet to cover the spare tire and has some rust behind the wheel wells
-Small chip in the windshield
-Will need new tires in the near future
-Tires need air every few weeks as the wheels are corroded and do not seal perfectly
-Some scuffs, scratches, faded paint, and rust on outside of vehicle, but no major damage to the body
-Sometimes the hood release is difficult to use (you have to pull on it really hard to open the hood)
Overall, the car is in decent shape for its age and the number of miles on it. The only reason I am selling it is because I recently purchased a minivan for my expanding family and no longer need this vehicle. It needs to go as we don't have space for it, so make an offer.
